About Us

On South Street in Morristown, there is a building that has made grown adults cry, laugh until their sides hurt, and leap to their feet for standing ovations, sometimes all in the same evening. Mayo Performing Arts Center has been the cultural anchor of Morris County since its founding, drawing performers and audiences from across New Jersey and beyond to its beautifully restored 1,350-seat hall. With a 4.7-star rating backed by over 2,200 reviews, the praise is not manufactured. People genuinely love this place.

The programming ranges from Beatles tribute nights that pack the house with multigenerational fans to comedy headliners, holiday spectaculars, and nationally touring Broadway productions. The acoustics and lighting draw consistent raves from reviewers, and the crew behind the scenes, the sound engineers and lighting technicians, are mentioned by name in reviews. That is rare. That means something.

The experience extends beyond the front door. Visitors recommend arriving early, grabbing dinner at nearby spots like Millie Meatballs, and parking on the side streets surrounding the venue. Inside, the atmosphere is welcoming and the staff makes first-timers feel like regulars.

What We Offer

MPAC presents a full calendar of live entertainment across genres and generations. Broadway touring productions, rock and pop concerts, classical performances, comedy nights, family shows, and special community events all find a home on this stage. The theater also hosts private events and serves as a hub for arts education programming throughout Morris County.

The venue's technical production capabilities, including professional-grade sound and lighting systems, support everything from intimate acoustic sets to full-scale theatrical productions. Accessible seating, a full lobby, and a knowledgeable box office staff round out the experience. Whether you are booking a single ticket or planning a group outing, MPAC's box office and online ticketing platform make the process straightforward.

Beyond individual shows, MPAC operates as a nonprofit arts organization, meaning every ticket purchase directly supports the continued presence of live performance in northern New Jersey. Season memberships and donor programs offer priority access and exclusive benefits for the venue's most dedicated supporters.

"Arts & culture abound in the Garden State, particularly in the state’s rare gem of Morris County. Nestled on South Street in the heart of Morristown, the Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) stands as a beacon for art lovers and music enthusiasts alike. With its rich history dating back to 1937, this establishment has transformed from a movie theater into a vibrant hub for performing arts boasting an assortment of exciting events year-round that features everything from in-person concerts and comedy shows to livestreams and virtual events. Walking through its doors feels like stepping into another world—one filled with anticipation and excitement. My partner and I were lucky to obtain tickets via an online market reseller (the Tickets Center) at Left Orchestra, row P, for last night’s performance of Riverdance 30. Upon entering this warm and inviting venue as first-timers with an orchestra and the balcony section, we were greeted by the staff and waited for the doors to open 30 minutes before the start of the show. The bar on the main floor had alcohol, soda, chips, and other light snacks. Our cushiony seats were comfortable, providing a clear view of the stage and a great sound system. The show was a fusion of traditional and contemporary Irish as well as international dance. The music is choreographed with stunning costumes and cutting-edge visuals, bringing its magic to audiences. Prices were comparable to the area and artist. Parking was offered via the online market reseller, and I purchased it. The location was a 15 min walk, and we were okay with that. It was so easy to enter and exit without the congestion. However, the QR scan ticket provided by them was not able to be scanned at the destined location machine. As a result, I had to pay twice. When communicating with this reseller, they refused to refund, as it was a final sale. We had an amazing time and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great night out by contacting directly the Mayo PAC and not Tickets-Center."
